IPac endorses Heather Wilson for Net Neutrality support
Last week we proudly announced our Fab Four, four Congress members that are committed to bringing balance back to American information policy. We received lots of positive feedback, and many also wondered if we would be adding any races where net neutrality is major issue. I'm excited to announce IPac's endorsement of Rep. Heather Wilson (R-NM-01) for her courageous, principled work on that topic. You can donate to her campaign here:

Net neutrality -- the principle that ISPs shouldn't discriminate over the data that passes over their wires -- is being hotly debated in Congress right now. An important step in winning that battle is keeping it from descending into a partisan riot. That's why we've chosen New Mexico's Heather Wilson as on of IPac's premiere candidates for 2006. Rep. Wilson was the lone Republican to support net neutrality during its first House subcommittee vote. She later voted against the Communications Opportunity, Promotion, and Enhancement (COPE) Act because it failed to include protections for net neutrality. Her support for the public interest on this matter has been unwavering, and she deserves our support.
Rep. Wilson is also in a very tight race, so every dollar you donate will have an outsized impact. Help this defender of net neutrality stay in office by donating to her campaign today and remember that every dollar contributed through IPac is “tagged” as supporting balanced information policy:

I agree about not letting this descend into the pits of partisan bickering. Actually, I was disheartened a while back when I learned that MoveOn.org was participating in the network neutrality debate - they've become so synonymous with anticonservatism and anti-Republicanism that many Republicans would look at their name on an endorsement list and make up their minds on the spot to oppose net neutrality without actually evaluating the issues.
Donated to her, and chastised my own representative, Lynn Westmoreland, for supporting HR 5252. Time to kick these fools out on the street!
